Legal notices

The Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA) website (www.unirufa.it – the “Website”) provides information about the Academy’s activities and the services it offers.  Any inaccuracies found therein may be reported by sending an e-mail to amministrazione@unirufa.it; the relevant office will respond as soon as possible.
Under no circumstance can Rome University of Fine Arts be held liable for damages of any kind that are directly or indirectly caused by accessing or using the Website and its functions or by using interactive tools.  Users of the Website accept that the Website and its contents, including the services it may offer, are provided “as is” and “with all errors”.  Rome University of Fine Arts reserves the right to prevent, prohibit or interrupt access to the Website and its functions and to change the Website’s contents and these notices at any time and without any advance notice.  Rome University of Fine Arts does not give any kind of explicit or implicit guarantee as to the Website’s contents and the information contained therein, including but not limited to, their lawfulness or ownership and their fitness or suitability for certain purposes or uses.  Any unauthorized access, alteration, falsification, modification or cancellation of all or some of the information published and any impediment or disturbance of the operation of the Website or of the services it provides is strictly prohibited and offenders will be prosecuted under the Criminal Code and Law no. 547 of 23 December 1993.  Unless explicitly authorized in writing, anyone who fails to comply with these provisions will be prosecuted in the competent civil and criminal courts.

Copyright

The Website’s contents – for example, script codes, software, graphics, texts, tables, images, sounds, videos, files, metadata and any other information available in any form – are protected under the legislation on original works.  Each and every product and/or service mentioned in the Website is a trademark belonging to its owner or holder and may be protected by patent and/or copyright granted and/or registered by the pertinent authorities.  The Website’s contents may only be reproduced with the Rome University of Fine Arts’ prior consent.  In all cases, copyright notices, the authors, if stated, and/or the source must be cited in publications in whatsoever form and howsoever circulated.  The personal data present in the Website (such as e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers) may only be used for purposes connected with the Academy’s didactic and research activities.  It is prohibited to use published data for marketing or other business-related purposes without the consent of the party concerned, as is spamming.  Any breaches of these provisions will be reported to the competent authorities.  What is known as “deep linking” – i.e., the underhand use of – parts of the Website in websites belong to others is prohibited.

Links to other websites

The existence of a hyperlink (link) to another website does not imply any – even partial or indirect – approval of that other website on the part of Rome University of Fine Arts.
Should Rome University of Fine Arts be present on social media, reference is to be made to the relevant terms and conditions regarding copyright, which the Website’s users are required to know about and check.

Computer viruses

Rome University of Fine Arts does not guarantee that the Website is without errors or viruses.  Neither Rome University of Fine Arts, its suppliers or its staff can be held liable for any damage suffered by the Website’s users that is caused by said destructive elements.

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how the data belonging to the Website’s users is processed.
Users are either:

  • mere visitors to the Website, or
  • registered users who log in to its functions.

1. The reason for this notice
This is information that is provided pursuant to section 13 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 – the Data Protection Code – to all those who interact with the online services offered in the Website.

2. The Data Controller
The data pertaining to identified and/or identifiable people who access the www.unirufa.it website may be processed.  The “controller” of that data and its processing is RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts of Via Benaco, 2 – 00199 Rome.

3. Where data is processed
All data processing operations in connection with the Website take place at Via Benaco, 2 – 00199 Rome.
The personal data provided by users who ask that informative materials be sent to them is used only in order to provide the service or carry out the work required and is disclosed to third parties only if necessary to such end.

4. The kind of data processed

Browsing data

In the normal course of their operations, the IT systems and software procedures that make the Website work acquire certain personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communications protocols or used to improve the standard of the service offered.  It is information that is not gathered in order to be associated with identified data subjects, but, by reason of its nature, if it were to be processed and combined in certain ways, it could make it possible to identify users.  This data category includes the IP addresses or domain names of the computers used to connect to the Website, the time the relevant request is made, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and computing environment.  That data is used only to gather anonymous statistical information (since it is in aggregate form) on the use made of the Website, on the services rendered and to check that it is working properly and it is cancelled on a periodical basis.  Said data may be used to ascertain liability in the event of hypothetical computer crimes to the detriment of the portal or third parties at the request of the courts or the police.

Data provided voluntarily by users

The optional, explicit and voluntary transmission of e-mails to the addresses provided in the Website entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s e-mail address needed to respond to requests and any other personal data included in the message.  Users are nevertheless assured that such processing of their data will take place according to the principles of correctness, legality, transparency and the protection of confidentiality as required under Legislative Decree no. 196/03.  Said data may be exchanged with other Academies or Universities and/or with bodies such as the Italian Ministry for Universities and Research, Ministry of Finance and Revenue and Excise Police [Guardia di Finanza], and also with the local “La Sapienza” office in Rome of LAZIODISU [Agenzia per il Diritto agli Studi Universitari nel Lazio], the Lazio Regional Government agency that provides support to university students, for the required controls.

5. How data is processed
The Data Controller processes data in writing and/or in hard copy or in electronic and computerized files; data is entered into the relevant databases (pertaining to customers, suppliers, administration, etc.) using the appropriate and protected tools in accordance with the security standards imposed by Legislative Decree no. 196/2003

6. Data subjects’ rights
The Website’s users may exercise the rights over their data granted to data subjects under section 7 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 by sending a specific request to such effect (subject: “privacy rights”) to the Data Processor.
