CINEMA
The degree course in Cinema aims to prepare a professional figure capable of operating in the
areas of cinema, television and the entertainment field.
Such a figure will carry out his/her activity as a freelance, either independently
or in collaboration with others.
He/she will be capable of devising and implementing, based on interpretative
and artistic criteria, a cinema or television production: fiction, soap-opera,
commercial, music video, video-art, documentary (art, information et al.),
shooting in ENG.
He will be able to make a valid contribution as a collaborator with professional
studios, production companies, enterprises operating in the entertainment
field, or centres of production, editing and post-production.
In the accomplishment of his/her professional activity he/she will be capable
of assuming directly planning responsibilities, art direction and general
coordination of an entertainment performance.
Among other functions, this expert will be able to take care of the organization
of events such as concerts, conferences, meeting, exhibitions, fashion
shows, events in the open air, etc.
This professional figure will be engaged in the following endeavours: the
study, identification and conception of the narrative framework of the
subject; the treatment of the image and the mechanisms of direction and
screenwriting; the aesthetic search of the photographic composition; the
in-depth study of the production procedures (perusal of the screenplay,
working plan, daily plan for film shooting); photography, with reference
to the location, stage design, costumes and makeup; and finally he/she
will be engaged in technical-artistic activity of film editing and in the
use of a music soundtrack for finalizing the product in post-production.

- The background of the historical events that at the basis of the present-day
culture of the entertainment field and costume and stage design.
- A comprehensive overview of History of Contemporary Art, History of Cinema
and Television and History of Music.
- The aesthetics and semiotics of the image in motion.
- The techniques of Film Direction, Photography and Film Shooting and Editing,
with particular reference to photographic viewpoints.
- The techniques of sound mixing, dubbing and synchronization.
- The techniques of preparing and putting on a show.
- The management and economics of a show.
