PAINTING course
The degree course in Painting
aims at preparing a professional figure capable of operating within
the field of the visual arts, with particular reference to painting
and graphic design in art.
This art professional carries out his/her activity as a freelance usually
independently or sometimes in collaboration with others.
He/she makes for a worthy collaborator with art studios, agencies in
the service sector and specialized artistic and professional workshops
operating in the field of the visual arts: painting, graphic design
and photography.
In the accomplishment of his/her professional activity, he/she is also
capable of carrying out assignments for collaboration in art direction.
He/she is able to promote, organize and implement artistic manifestations,
with particular reference to art exhibitions, personal and collective.
He/she carries out the conceptualization and the realization of pictorial
works for the decoration of interiors of private and public buildings,
houses, religious edifices and exhibition spaces such as art galleries
and museums.
Such a professional figure will be able to operate, moreover, in the
field of graphic design and the art publishing world and will be highly
qualified to collaborate with printing offices, galleries and artistic
circuits in the field.
KNOWLEDGE BASE
- Comprehensive overview of the History of Modern and Contemporary
Art.
- The techniques and the technologies of traditional and contemporary
painting.
- The techniques of colour and its use.
- The tools and the main techniques of design and the pictorial representation.
- The scientific-theoretical aspects of the discipline as well as the
practical-methodological ones.
- The main techniques of graphical representation, with reference to
computerized graphic design.
- The techniques of engraving, printing and graphic design in art.
- The techniques of photography (B/W, colour and digital).
- Capability of using these notions in order to face and resolve in
the best way possible problem areas in painting of a complex type that
demand an interdisciplinary approach.
