Sculpture

This 12-hour course will gradually introduce the students, in consideration of their initial skills, to the three-dimensional values of sculpture, as a natural development of what designed on paper.

In the first part this course includes drawing and experimental practice, in the spirit of a continuing education for the study of form, Later the students will create sculptures, through which they will demonstrate their own creative development.

With this course students creativity will be encouraged and they will get some technical skills for a first approach to the sculpture. Each student will be given the possibility to follow his/her own inspiration and thematic, discovering his/her own figurative world.
(It will be the responsibility of the teacher to introduce the students to the themes of plastic art of classical sculptors, until modern art and new trends).

Syllabus of the course:
• Study of form and space
• Study of body armour
• Model-making in clay ("bassorielievo" or "tuttotondo")
• Modeling in plaster
• Cast in plaster

Technique: clay and plaster

Duration of each lesson: three hours (1 hour = 60 minutes)
Materials are provided by RUFA

Course language: course is held in Italian.

No particular qualifications needed; direct enrolment in Secretariat.
