Cristina Chiappini

Born in Rome in 1967, she now lives between Rome, Brussels and Cyprus.

Art director, graphic and media designer, she has been working in the field of visual communications since 1989, in particular by developing web-design, app device, interaction design, brand identity, environmental graphics projects, along with publishing projects, social communication campaigns, “non-conventional” communication, communication for events, TV channel identity and TV motion graphic. Her clients include: Triennale Design Museum, La Triennale di Milano, Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain Paris, MAXXI Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, Achille Castiglioni Museum, Italian Ministry of Cultural Assets and Activities, Italian Foreign Ministry, Banca d’Italia, INA Assitalia, Assicurazioni Generali, National Institute of Nuclear Physics, Rai International, Enciclopedia Treccani, Marithé + François Girbaud, UNFPA United Nations Population Fund, Rome Mobility Services, Atac, Codice Edizioni.
She has served as creative director (2007 – 2013) of the Triennale Design Museum portal of the Design Museum Foundation (Milan). In 2014, she was called by Icograda (The International Council of Graphic Design Associations), for the “Icograda DDP Poster Design” project, to promote the DDP Dongdaemun Design Plaza and Park in Seoul, the largest design centre worldwide, designed by Zaha Hadid and opened in 2014, for which she created an interactive application that enables users to create posters. In 2013, she was called by Icograda (The International Council of Graphic Design Associations) to give her contribution with a project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Icograda, during the General Assembly in Montreal, Canada. Her projects have been shown in museums, art galleries and international exhibition spaces dedicated to design, such as the “Vitra Design Museum”, in Weil am Rhein, in San Francisco, Bilbao, Beijing, Taiwan, Melbourne, Moscow, Vienna, Zagreb, Torun, Istanbul, Madrid, Thessaloniki, Ljubljana, Rome, Venice, Milan, Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Curitiba, Salvador Bahia, Santiago. She has been appointed by the Ministry of Cultural Assets and Activities to serve as a member of the first Italian Design Council (2007). She is a member of AIAP since 1989, (Associazione Italiana Design della Comunicazione Visiva – Italian Association of Visual Communication Design). She has served as the Deputy President of the national AIAP (2006 – 2009), and is a member of the Board of AIAP Lazio (2010-2015). She is also a member of BEDA, the Bureau of European Designer’s Associations
