Fabio Mongelli

He was born in Rome on the 25th of December 1968. He graduated from Architecture at  “La Sapienza” University. He is enrolled in the Order of Architects of Rome. He is the Director of the Rome University of Fine Arts, where he is also a professor of Design Methodology.
He is a Former Councilor of the Ministry of Education, University and Research – National Council for Higher Artistic and Musical Education – CNAM (from 2007 to 2013).
He was Invited to exhibit at the ART / ARCHITECTURE / CITY exhibition at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome (2001) and is a Member of the International Commission and invited to exhibit at the ART AND SCIENCE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION AND SIMPOSIUM exhibition at the Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University (2006 and 2012).
He was a visiting professor at Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing (2009), Escola Superior de Disseny de Illes Balears (2012) and Hochschule Mainz (2016) and moderator of the Intermediality as a mechanism for intercultural diffusion section at the Baku International Forum (2012).
He was a Member of the promoting committee of the BNL Media Art Festival at the MAXXI and 7 other locations in Rome (2016).

As a freelance architect, since 2000 he has been working professionally in his own studio and collaborated with several architectural firms. He has carried out numerous projects and installations, combining, in many cases, the technical design aspects with the educational-theoretical aspects (debates and conferences) in the field of architecture and art. Among these: “Manzù Accademico” (1994); “Photo / Sculpture” (1997); “Damiano Damiani: pictorial works and cinematographic documentation” (1998); “Art and communication / Art is communication” (2000); “Signs engraved: Academies of Rome” (2001); “Panorama: solutions of abstract art” (2001); “Glocal Cultural Festival” in Piazza del Campidoglio (2002); “Art. 33 ″ (2002); “New in Art and New in Art” (2003); “Public Design: Visuals – two-year project at the Casa dell’Architettura” (2005); “Christo and Jeanne Claude: signed photographs, postcards and posters” (2005); “Masters and students” (2005); “100 Works of Art for the Right to Food – FAO Rome (2007); permanent photographic exhibition at IRE / ISG Rome (2010); museum set-up project and artistic direction of the “Pietro Vannucci Academy of Fine Arts Museum and Plaster Cast Gallery” in Perugia (2012).
He has edited numerous and important art publications; among the many : “Manzù Accademico” – Rome 1996; “100 Works of Art for the Right to Food” FAO, Rome 2007.
His critical texts and photos are published in numerous international catalogs and magazines.
