Mario Fois, graduated in graphic design from ISIA Urbino (Istituto Superiore Industrie Artistiche of Urbino). He works in the field of Visual Design and various areas of Visual Communication such as Corporate image, branding, publishing, Digital and Information Design.
In the 1990s he cooperated with Pool4 on the staging of numerous exhibitions and successively with numerous advertising agencies. He also held the position of Art director at Young & Rubicam in Rome.
In 1999 he founded Vertigo Design with Mario Rullo and has produced design work for such customers as Auditorium – Parco della Musica, the Municipality of Roma, Ferrovie dello Stato, Agenzia del Demanio, P&G, the Authority for Data Privacy, Finmeccanica, Alenia Spazio, Alenia Marconi System, Telespazio, Merck, Fandango Cinema, Intralot, Fincantieri, Unicef, Ordine di Malta, UCEI, Maxxi, Repubblica.it, Mercedes Italia, Sace, Leonardo, Fondazione Leonardo and many others beside.
From 2003 to 2009 he taught Graphic Design and Visual Communication for a degree course in Industrial Design, at the University of Roma “La Sapienza”, and since 2006 has taught at ISIA Roma Design in Rome, Pescara and Pordenone. Since 2013 he taught Wayfinding at Rufa Rome University.
In 2011 with Vertigo Design has won the competition for the design of the tourist signs of the historical center of Belluno, project completed in 2015.
In 2012 took the form of “Information Design” during the Master UX – User Experience at the Department of Psychology of the processes of development and socialization of the University La Sapienza.
In 2015 he founded the project infographicsense.it, dedicated to the ID and new technologies.
In 2016 at IBM Italy, took the workshop ‘Infografica/Infodesign’ on techniques of representation of the data. From 2016 is part of the steering committee of the AgID for web development of public administration. In 2018 with Vertigo Design recived an Honorable Mention ‘Compasso d’Oro’ (the most important award of Italian design) and other projects have been selected for the ADI Index.
He was the autor of the magazine “Progetto Grafico” – of which he is also an editor – and “diid– disegno industriale” and is Art Director of the cultural magazine ‘Civiltà delle Macchine’.
He is also a member of AIAP and BEDA and of Lazio ADI Commission (Industrial Design).
