Penalties of 400 to 1000 euros for those who, despite having the obligation, do not have a green pass. For teachers there is the additional sanction of salary suspension after five days. Managers will control the pass. Penalties ranging from 400 to 1,000 euros are foreseen both for those who do not have the pass and for the manager in charge of the control.

From 1 September, the pass is compulsory on high-speed, intercity and night intercity trains. The verification is carried out by the railway officer. There is no green pass obligation on local public transport: subways, buses or trams.

In order to enter Italy, the traveller’s Covid-19 green certification must attest to one of the following conditions: having completed the prescribed anti-Sars-Cov-2 vaccination cycle at least 14 days ago or having been cured of the new coronavirus or having had a molecular or antigenic swab carried out within 48 hours prior to entry into Italy with a negative result. Minors under 6 years of age are exempt from the pre-departure swab. The certification of completion of the vaccination cycle must refer to one of the four vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (Ema): Comirnaty by Pfizer-BioNtech, Moderna, Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca), Janssen (Johnson & Johnson).

Currently, the duration of the green pass in the event of recovery is six months from the date of recovery from Covid. In the case of a negative swab, the certificate is valid for forty-eight hours after the test has been carried out. It is valid for nine months for those who have completed the vaccination cycle and for those cured of Covid who have had a single dose of the vaccine as planned. But the latter has been extended to 12 months in the law converting decree-law No 105 of 23 July, approved by the Chamber of Deputies and currently being examined by the Senate.

The Covid-19 Green Certification for vaccination is automatically generated by the National Platform-Dgc and is valid from the 15th day after the first dose of vaccine until the date of the second dose. The “final” Certification after the second dose is issued within 24\/48 hours after the second administration and is valid for 9 months. The national platform, after the Green Pass has been generated, sends the authcode for downloading to personal email addresses or by sms. The code, together with the data on your Health Insurance Card, gives you the possibility to obtain the Certification through the www.dgc.gov.it<\/a> website or on the Immuni app. Alternatively, if you have Spid or Carta d’Identit\u00e0 Elettronica (CIE) you can use the IO app. Or you can access the regional electronic health record. From 30 July, if you don’t receive a text message or email, on the www.dgc.gov.it<\/a> site you can retrieve the authcode and then download the green pass from the same site with Tessera Sanitaria or from the Immuni App.
\nIf you need technical assistance you can contact the toll-free number 800.91.24.91 active every day from 8 to 20 or write to the address: cittadini@dgc.gov.it<\/a>. There is an exemption for “persons exempt on the basis of appropriate medical certification issued according to the criteria defined in a circular of the Ministry of Health”. Exemption certification for the Sars-Cov-2 vaccination is issued if the vaccination is omitted or postponed due to specific documented clinical conditions that make it permanently or temporarily “contraindicated”. The certification, which will be valid until 30 September 2021 at the latest, will be used to access all activities for which a green pass is mandatory. Obviously, people who obtain an exemption to vaccination must continue to maintain preventive measures such as: using masks, keeping distance from people who do not live with them, washing their hands, avoiding gatherings, especially in enclosed spaces.

You don’t need to show any ID in shops, pharmacies, supermarkets, but also in open-air bars and restaurants, where you can have lunch or dinner freely, while respecting the metre distance at the table. No passes in churches. Nor in outdoor swimming pools. There is no obligation to obtain a green pass if restaurants and bars in hotels are exclusively available to customers, while certification will be required if catering is also available to the public outside.
