On Thursday 21 December 2023 the students of Sustainable Fashion Design<\/a> will connect live via Instagram<\/a> with Letizia Palchetti Tosi, Head Designer of Shaft Jeans<\/a>. Directly from the Fashion classroom, we talked about how in just a few years this historic denim brand has become a reference point in the world for Made in Italy production, investing more and more in research and development.
\nThe interview was conducted by Guenda Cermel, coordinator of the RUFA Sustainable Fashion Design Course.<\/h4>\n

 
\nFounded in 1964 in Montpellier by a French artisan, Shaft Jeans has become in a few years an important reference point for the most exclusive and advanced Made in Italy production, coming to be chosen by the stylists of celebrities from all over the world, including the famous Roman band Maneskin<\/strong>, and actress Jenna Ortega.<\/strong>
\nShaft Jeans continuously invests in research and development, investigating new embroideries, up-to-date laser techniques, quilted and needle-punched effects,<\/strong> as well as new washing processes<\/strong>.
\nThe company proudly collaborates with local companies and manufacturers<\/strong> to produce all styles of denim, reflecting its commitment to local craftsmanship.
\nAll production is made locally in Italy and all denim products are manufactured between Tuscany and Marche within a 350 km radius of its design workshop. A fundamental choice, which reduces the company’s carbon footprint by limiting the transport and shipping of goods.<\/p>\n

Every single metre of fabric is carefully chosen: the attention to detail, the quality of the cloth and the weaving of the garments are the result of the skill of experienced tailors, capable of creating high quality fashion products, where every accessory is added to the finished garment by hand.
\nThe traditions of the territory, the skills and secrets of the production system find expression in all Shaft Jeans collections, capable of transmitting to the world the uniqueness of authentic Italian craftsmanship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
