\nThe book \u201cSAN LORENZO, INCHIOSTRO E CELLULOIDE\u201d is a collective book that collects the essays, testimonies, and insights of people and characters (more than fifty authors) who for various reasons have passed through this neighborhood.
\nThe authors’ gaze is directed both at the literary realities and at the many cinematic experiences that have been made here since the 1950s. The aim of the project is to return a varied narrative of the neighborhood’s reality.<\/p>\n

The book is part of the “San Lorenzo Series” published by Ponte Sisto, in which the following publications converge: San Lorenzo, luoghi storia e memorie<\/em> (2015), Passione San Lorenzo, gli artisti<\/em> (2018) and the latest San Lorenzo, inchiostro e celluloide<\/em> (2023), curated by Rosella De Salvia (PRO LOCO SAN LORENZO) and Rolando Galluzzi (ARCHIVIO STORICO DI SAN LORENZO). . <\/p>\n

The words “Ink” and “Celluloid,” now obsolete terms, bring us back to the atmosphere of the 1950s, to “times a little less distant,” as Tullio de Mauro put it, when Riso Amaro (1949), I soliti ignoti, the drama of jealousy and many others were filmed.<\/p>\n

RUFA University since 2016 is a strongly representative place in San Lorenzo for teaching visual arts, photography, cinema and much more, inside Palazzo Cerere, a great example of industrial archeology, rich in entrepreneurial and artistic history, frequented by the artists of the New Roman School.
\nIn one of the lofts of a well-known photographer in the years 1996-2000 every Thursday a milonga was prepared, and on a December evening in 1999, around midnight Pina Bausch, the greatest choreographer of the twentieth century, creator of the dance theater current, appeared: she had come to study the atmospheres of Tango in Rome! <\/p>\n

We chose the spaces of RUFA, rich in history, creativity and professionalism, because, the activities that take place there, turn out to be very much akin to the cinematographic and artistic theme developed in the book. In addition, almost opposite the Academy, in Piazza dei Sanniti, the restaurant Pommidoro welcomed artists, men of letters, including Pier Paolo Pasolini, Alberto Moravia, Elsa Morante.<\/p>\n
