The MyCITY section in particular is dedicated to social innovation and urban regeneration through art.<\/strong>.
\nThe MyCity award, in collaboration with La Fondazione Renato Armellini<\/a><\/strong>, intends to encourage the activity of young artists under 30 from any background, who are called upon to represent a project on the theme through their art: <\/p>\n

Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s Orlando, create a work that explores the connections between women’s past, present and future<\/strong>. Highlight women’s struggles and progress over time, offering a reflection on self-discovery in the history of femininity.
\nThe Armellini Foundation intends to commission the participating artist to create an artistic pictorial and\/or sculptural work that represents their personal vision of the theme. <\/p>\n

Each participating artist expressly acknowledges and unconditionally accepts that the winning work will be acquired free of charge by the Renato Armellini Foundation at the moment of the communication of the victory, automatically and without further formalities. Therefore, the winning work will become part of the artistic heritage of the Renato Armellini Foundation.
\nFundamental elements in the evaluation of the submitted work will be characteristics such as:
\n1) Originality of the representation and relevance of the work to the theme;
\n2) Expressive strength of the composition;
\n3) Quality of the materials and relative technique of realisation. <\/p>\n

How to participate<\/span><\/h3>\n

Application for the Prize must be made by filling in the application form on the website www.myllenniumaward.org<\/a> by 13.00 hours (UTC+1, Rome, Italy) on 6 May 2024.<\/p>\n

Permitted techniques for the Visual Arts<\/span><\/h3>\n

Painting<\/strong>
\nWorks realised in complete stylistic and technical freedom (oil, tempera, acrylic, ink, vinyl, watercolour, graphite, pencil, collage, etchings, engravings, various types of print) and on any medium (canvas, paper, wood, plastic, iron, etc.). For the final exhibition, the maximum measurements allowed are 3m per side.<\/p>\n

Sculpture and installation<\/strong>
\nWorks created in any organic or inorganic material, for which sound, light, video and mechanical or electrical movements may also be used. For the final exhibition, the maximum measurements allowed are: base 4 metres, depth 4 metres, height 8 metres. There are no weight limits. The design must provide for the occupation of a maximum area of approximately 10 square metres with one or more three-dimensional elements, with an envelope volume of no less than approximately 3 cubic metres.<\/p>\n

Prize<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u20ac10.000,00 prize money including any expenses incurred in the realisation of the work
\nExhibition of the finalist work within the iconic space of Palazzo Nardini in Rome to be inaugurated in 2025. A historical palace that was the seat of the Papal Governorship at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries and was occupied by the Italian feminist movement (Women’s Liberation Movement – MLD), which made it the first international women’s house, as well as Italy’s first anti-violence centre
\nGuaranteed visibility of the work inside the building by becoming part of the Renato Armellini Foundation’s heritage.<\/p>\n
