The artist Wang Yuxiang, a graduate of the RUFA School of Visual Arts, is one of the key figures celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere. On this occasion, the artist will exhibit in the new exhibition space designed by the architecture studio STARTT with his first solo show in Italy, titled “Anche il sole sorge”, curated by artistic director Marcello Smarrelli.<\/h4>\n

 
\nThe project “Anche il sole sorge”, supported by the “Per Chi Crea” (Ed. 2023) program, realized with the backing of the Ministry of Culture and SIAE, explores the concept of entropy as a metaphor for life, investigating the relationship between humans and nature. Through site-specific works, Wang Yuxiang aims to make the entropic connections between humans and the environment both visible and poetic, using thermal energy conversion as a key interpretive element. His vision also examines the human body as a “quantifiable” entity, shifting from a physical reflection to a more sociological one, addressing the complexity of information and production processes.<\/p>\n

Born in 1997 in Anhui, China, Wang Yuxiang<\/strong> bases his research on the fusion of Eastern and Mediterranean cultures. Thanks to his academic training in China and the experience gained during his international travels, Yuxiang creates works that analyze the relationship between time, history, and memory. His site-specific visual architectures arise from observing and interpreting the peculiarities of the places where he intervenes, revealing their characteristics with a deep and innovative gaze.<\/p>\n

“Anche il sole sorge” aims to stimulate a critical reflection on the interaction between humans and the environment, inviting the observer to become aware of the complex relationships that govern our existence. Entropy thus becomes a lens through which to question the irreversibility of climate change, production processes, and the ever-increasing chaos of information.<\/p>\n

The title of the exhibition is inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s famous novel “The Sun Also Rises” (1926), reinterpreted with a subtle irony by the artist. As in the novel, the artist reflects on the relationship between humans and nature and the search for truth, recalling the languor of the protagonists, immersed in a constant quest for meaning.<\/p>\n

The exhibition “Anche il sole sorge”, curated by Marcello Smarrelli<\/strong>, will be accompanied by a critical text by Giuliana Benassi.
