\nPromoted by SophIA \u2013 Audiovisual Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence, the competition is part of a research project involving the Universities of Bolzano, Trieste, and LUMSA, with the support of key partners such as Rai Cinema Channel, AIR3 Italian Directors Association, Sineglossa, and 49\u00b0 (an incubator for independent film projects).<\/p>\n

A short film to explore human\u2013machine co-creation<\/h4>\n

Cort-IA invites screenwriters, authors, and creatives to submit original short film scripts co-written with artificial intelligence tools (chatbots and generative language models \u2013 LLMs).
\nThe winning script will be awarded with the production of the short film, which will also involve further experimentation with AI-based technologies, under the direct consultancy of the SophIA lab.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cCort-IA\u201d aims to explore models of responsible co-creation, where artificial intelligence does not replace the author but supports and enhances their expressive potential, contributing to the development of new languages.
\nAt the heart of the project lies the protection of human labour and creativity, at a time when the debate around the use of AI in the arts and culture is more vibrant than ever.<\/p>\n

The winning short film will become a public case study, serving as a reference for identifying best practices and contributing to the creation of ethical and transparent guidelines for the use of AI in the audiovisual sector.<\/p>\n

How to participate<\/h4>\n

Participants are required to submit an original short film script created in co-authorship with artificial intelligence tools. It is essential to clearly and transparently describe the creative processes involved: from the prompts used, to the generated dialogues, to the narrative structures suggested by the models.<\/p>\n

Applicants may also attach additional materials such as moodboards, teasers, or visual and sound suggestions \u2013 created with or without AI \u2013 to support their proposal.<\/p>\n

Scripts will be evaluated by a jury composed of university faculty, audiovisual industry experts, and an LLM model specifically trained for the contest, in a selection process that merges human and technological perspectives.<\/p>\n
