Camacci\u2019s project for the creation of a monumental public sculpture was selected by an international jury through a process that saw over 590 applications<\/strong> from around the world. The 2026 edition brings together 25 artists from 18 countries<\/strong>, who will work live on the creation of artworks destined to become part of the city\u2019s permanent public art collection.<\/p>\n

Curated under the theme \u201cTraces of What Will Be\u201d<\/em>, the seventh edition of the symposium invites reflection on the physical, cultural, and conceptual traces that help shape the future of cities and communities. The selected artists produced large-scale sculptures in granite<\/strong> \u2014 with possible stainless-steel integrations \u2014 or in reclaimed metal, within a framework that combines artistic production with moments of public engagement, panel discussions, and workshops.<\/p>\n

Emanuela Camacci\u2019s participation in Tuwaiq Sculpture 2026 represents a significant recognition of her artistic path and highlights the quality of the research and sculptural practice<\/strong> that also informs her teaching activity at RUFA, within an international context.

Concept<\/strong>
\nR-esistere<\/em> takes the form of a large spoon carved from Royal Gold and Royal Rose granite, conceived as a functional seat. Inside the spoon, stone chips and fragments from the work of other sculptors host and nurture a small plant.<\/p>\n

The composition symbolizes resilience, drawing a parallel between plants growing in arid rock and the enduring strength of nature. The work connects the steep cliffs of Tuwaiq with the concept of offering and sustenance.
