The project<\/h4>\n

Media Cartographies<\/strong> is a research and training platform that explores the relationship between data and perception, investigating how digital systems shape the way we understand and represent reality.<\/p>\n

The project invites artists to develop original multimedia works \u2014 installations, performances, audiovisual or immersive experiences \u2014 that reinterpret the concept of the map as a dynamic and sensitive device for navigating the continuous flow of information that shapes our perception of reality.<\/p>\n

The project is completely free for participants and is supported by MiC<\/strong> and SIAE<\/strong>, within the framework of the program “Per Chi Crea”<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Participants and research areas<\/h4>\n

The call is open to:
\n\u276f artists under 35
\n\u276f individuals or collectives (max 2 members)
\n\u276f residents in Italy or Italian citizens living abroad
\n\u276f working in the fields of visual and multimedia arts<\/p>\n

Applicants must hold at least a first-level degree (or equivalent qualification) from an Academy of Fine Arts, University, or AFAM institution, in Italy or abroad, or demonstrate a coherent and documented professional path through a portfolio including at least two projects in the field of visual and multimedia arts.<\/p>\n

Projects must engage with at least one of the following areas:
\n\u276f Data and Artificial Intelligence
\n\u276f Digital Performance
\n\u276f Interactivity and immersive environments<\/p>\n

The program<\/h4>\n

1. Online training (max 30 participants)<\/strong> 6 theoretical sessions lasting 2 hours each, led by professionals in the field (artists, curators, and researchers).<\/p>\n

2. Mentoring (6 selected artists \/ collectives)<\/strong>
\nTwo individual mentoring sessions for project development. Among the participants, six artists or collectives will be selected for the mentoring and residency phase, supported by a dedicated tutor.<\/p>\n

3. Artistic residency in Rome<\/strong>
\n1 week of intensive residency at Liminal Space \u2013 La Casa delle Arti Transmediali<\/strong>.
\nAccess to multimedia equipment, technical support, and tutoring.
\nAt the end: Open Studio (2 days)<\/strong> open to the public.<\/p>\n

Candidates will be evaluated based on:
\n\u276f quality and originality of the artistic proposal
\n\u276f relevance to the project themes
\n\u276f potential for professional growth<\/p>\n

The selection will be carried out by a committee composed of curators, artists, and faculty members from the partner academies. The decision is final.
\nSelected artists will receive a production budget of up to \u20ac500<\/strong>.
\nAccommodation costs are fully covered; travel and subsistence expenses up to \u20ac300<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
