{"id":154664,"date":"2026-07-07T16:47:03","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T14:47:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unirufa.it\/?p=154664"},"modified":"2026-07-07T17:26:00","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T15:26:00","slug":"con-ikea-italia-progettare-gli-spazi-del-futuro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unirufa.it\/en\/2026\/07\/07\/con-ikea-italia-progettare-gli-spazi-del-futuro\/","title":{"rendered":"Designing Tomorrow&#8217;s Spaces with IKEA Italia"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Company visit, a real client brief, and ongoing collaboration with industry professionals: RUFA students transform an academic project into a real-world experience, culminating in the implementation of a concept inside an IKEA store.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nFrom the initial company visit to the final concept presentations, through reviews, discussions, and continuous feedback from the <strong>IKEA Italia<\/strong> team, the collaboration between RUFA and <strong>IKEA Italia<\/strong> engaged students from the Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Design and the Master&#8217;s Degree in Visual and Innovation Design in two parallel project works, united by a shared objective: designing new experiences for IKEA stores in Rome.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the semester, students had the opportunity to work on a <strong>real client brief<\/strong>, collaborating side by side with company professionals and experiencing the methods, dynamics, and timelines of the professional design world.<\/p>\n<h4>From the Company Visit to the Project<\/h4>\n<p>The collaboration began with a <strong>Company Visit<\/strong> to the <strong>IKEA Porta di Roma<\/strong> store, where students gained first-hand insight into the company&#8217;s approach to space planning, design processes, and working methods.<br \/>\nThe day included an introductory session, a guided store tour with course-specific insights, and a final session dedicated to the presentation of the project briefs.<br \/>\nFrom that moment on, students worked in constant dialogue with the IKEA team, who supported the development of the projects through regular reviews and professional feedback.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive embed-responsive-4by3\"><a title=\"Student Projects for IKEA\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/unirufa\/albums\/72177720332491163\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"embed-responsive-item\" src=\" https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55142514184_8d2d941b8d_h.jpg\" alt=\"\"Student Projects for IKEA\"\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<h4>Two Design Challenges, One Shared Approach<\/h4>\n<p>Students from the <strong>Master&#8217;s Degree in Visual and Innovation Design<\/strong> reimagined an area of the <strong>IKEA Porta di Roma<\/strong> store, developing concepts and interactive installations that combined experience, storytelling, and audience engagement.<br \/>\nAt the same time, students from the <strong>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Design<\/strong> designed a new room setting for the <strong>IKEA Roma Fiumicino<\/strong> store, creating residential solutions aligned with IKEA&#8217;s design standards while working closely with the company&#8217;s interior designers throughout the project.<br \/>\nBoth project works were led by professors <strong>Alessandro Ciancio<\/strong>, <strong>Paolo Parea<\/strong>, <strong>Francesca Gollo<\/strong>, and <strong>Emanuele Tarducci<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive embed-responsive-4by3\"><a title=\"Student Projects for IKEA\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/unirufa\/albums\/72177720334560575\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"embed-responsive-item\" src=\" https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55379899629_eb18a1d989_h.jpg\" alt=\"\"Student Projects for IKEA\"\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p> &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the project, each team presented its proposal to IKEA representatives from the Rome area.<br \/>\nAmong the concepts presented, the project developed by <strong>Chiara Leonetti<\/strong>, <strong>Zhouhui Jiang<\/strong>, and <strong>Elisa D&#8217;Antonio<\/strong> was selected by the company for implementation inside the <strong>IKEA Porta di Roma<\/strong> store.<\/p>\n<h3>The concept is currently under development and will soon be brought to life inside the store, transforming a classroom project into a real experience for IKEA customers.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Company visit, a real client brief, and ongoing collaboration with industry professionals: RUFA students transform an academic project into a real-world experience, culminating in the implementation of a concept inside an IKEA store. &nbsp;
