Starting from the narration of the latest projects, a conversation will develop about his work, in which art and civil commitment meet. The artist, who mainly uses the medium of performance, develops a research focused on the disclosure of abuses of power and discrimination to address the violation of rights and violence, particularly racial and gender, in contemporary society. <\/p>\n

Regina Jos\u00e9 Galindo<\/em> is in Rome on the occasion of the performance and the inauguration of the project Lavarse las manos <\/em>curated by Federica La Paglia <\/em> at the Real Academia de Espa\u00f1a in Rome. The project is promoted and produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Spanish Cooperation, the Real Academia de Espa\u00f1a in Rome and the Cultural Centre of Spain in Guatemala.<\/p>\n

Regina Jos\u00e9 Galindo (1974), is a visual artist and poet, lives and works in Guatemala, using her own context as a starting point to explore and denounce the ethical implications of social violence and injustice. Winner of the Golden Lion for Best Young Artist at the 51st International Art Exhibition, she has been invited several times to the Venice Biennale, she has also participated in the 14th edition of Documenta and, among others, the 17th Sydney Biennale, the 2nd Moscow Biennale. He has to his credit numerous international exhibitions and his works are in the largest collections, including Tate London, MOMA, New York, Cisnero Collection, Switzerland, Pompidou Foundation, Paris.<\/p>\n

Federica La Paglia (1972), is an independent curator and communication consultant. Her research focuses on socio-political issues and the Latin American scene. She lives and works between Rome and Venice.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
