The competition has been organized in collaboration with the Brera Academy of Fine Arts<\/strong> and the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts<\/strong> and is sponsored by the Lombardy Region and the City of Milan.<\/p>\n

The contest is unique in that it requires artists to insert a mechanical piece<\/strong> (the original) produced by Gabbioneta<\/strong> into their work. Over the years, this condition has proved to be a strong stimulus for the participants: this is demonstrated by the 200 plastic proposals from Italian and foreign artists received in past editions. <\/p>\n

The jury<\/strong> is composed of Maria Fratelli, director of special projects of the Municipality of Milan and director of the “Francesco Messina” Museum, Angela Madesani, prize curator and art historian, Nada Pivetta, lecturer in sculpture at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Roberto Rocchi, lecturer in sculpture at the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts, Giovanna Sereni, director of human resources – Trillium Pumps Italy – Gabbioneta Pumps, Giorgio Tomasi architect.<\/p>\n

In order to participate, artists must not be older than 40 on December 31, 2021. The deadline for submitting projects is next May 15<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

All the ideas submitted will be exhibited between May and June in Milan and then at the company’s headquarters in Nova Milanese. “Gabbioneta Pumps”<\/strong> is a long-established Italian company, founded in 1897 and part of the “Trillium Pumps Italy”<\/strong> group. The idea of organizing the competition was born in 2016 on the occasion of the transfer from the historic headquarters in Sesto San Giovanni to the new larger reality of Nova Milanese, with the intent not to lose the history and identity clearly visible in the old plant. <\/p>\n

The call is online on the website of the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera and on the pages Facebook<\/strong><\/a> and Linkedin<\/strong><\/a> of the Prize.
