Cartoon artists<\/strong>, animators<\/strong>, illustrators<\/strong> and image artists<\/strong> are immediately confronted with professional relationships that are governed by contracts and preceded by complex negotiation processes. This makes it necessary to know how to read and interpret proposed agreements and to be able to discuss them. Even more so, it is essential to protect one’s own work upstream through knowledge of the law on copyright and through the tools available when it does not regulate a particular sector.<\/p>\n

This coming May 5<\/strong>, starting at 10:00 a.m., the meeting will be coordinated by the lecturer Fabrizio Verrocchi<\/strong> with guest speakers Katja Centomo<\/strong> and Emanuele Sciarretta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Katja Centomo<\/strong> has been at the helm of the Red Whale<\/strong> publishing studio for twenty years. She defines herself as a transmedia storyteller who works in the field of comics, cartoons and children’s fiction, offering her artistic and editorial direction to companies such as Disney, Mondadori, Rizzoli, Piemme, DeAgostini, Lux Vide and Rainbow,<\/strong> serving international properties such as Geronimo Stilton<\/strong> and the Winx<\/strong>. Lyricist of musicals for children, after the creation of “Monster Allergy”<\/strong>, a comic and cartoon spread throughout the world, as a scriptwriter has worked on several comic series, most recently the series “7 Crimes”<\/strong> soon to be published by Tunu\u00e9. Strong of the competence acquired in the management of characters, today she is intellectual properties manager of the videogames producer Ignition Publishing.<\/p>\n

Emanuele Sciarretta<\/strong>, an expert in contractual and corporate law<\/strong>, is a lawyer specializing in copyright<\/strong>, an area in which he follows the evolution and adaptation to new technologies<\/strong>. A great fan of novels, cinema and comics, in the field of video games he follows the transmedia development of intellectual property<\/strong>, from the protection of the original work, to the application of the legal terms that distinguish it, to its declinations through the media.
