The IILA-International Italo-Latin American Organization<\/strong> presents an exhibition at the Rome Museum in Trastevere<\/strong>, from 15 September to 31 October 2021<\/strong>, of the projects of the winner and finalists of the XII PHOTO IILA<\/strong>, an award dedicated to Latin American photographers under 35 years of age, created in collaboration with the Latin American member countries of the IILA.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is promoted by Roma Culture<\/strong>, Superintendence of Cultural Heritage of Rome<\/strong>, with the museum services of Z\u00e8tema Progetto Cultura<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We are what we eat: the participants<\/h3>\n

The photographers participating in the XII edition of the prize<\/strong> were confronted with the theme “We are what we eat”<\/strong>, inspired by one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong> that are part of the United Nations Agenda 2030<\/strong>, namely number 2, which aims to “end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture”<\/strong>. IILA, as a UN Observer, takes these issues forward in its work.<\/p>\n

The exhibition<\/h3>\n

The exhibition includes photos by Santiago Carmona<\/strong> (Colombia), winner<\/strong> of this twelfth edition<\/strong> with a project from 2018 to 2020 entitled “Exceso de abundancia”<\/strong>, as well as works by finalists Pablo Sosa (Uruguay), Eric Javier Markowski (Argentina), Ana Caroline de Lima (Brazil), Cristian Torres (Colombia) and Carlo Tello (Mexico).<\/p>\n

In accordance with the rules, the winner Santiago Carmona will have a one-month<\/strong> residency, during which he will develop a photographic project on the city of Rome. <\/p>\n

PHOTO IILA – IILA-PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD<\/strong> is organised in collaboration with the embassies of the IILA member countries<\/strong>: Argentina, Plurinational State of Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
