{"id":53267,"date":"2021-10-04T14:02:25","date_gmt":"2021-10-04T12:02:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unirufa.it\/?p=53267"},"modified":"2021-10-04T14:02:25","modified_gmt":"2021-10-04T12:02:25","slug":"workshop-datameditation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unirufa.it\/en\/2021\/10\/04\/workshop-datameditation\/","title":{"rendered":"DataMeditation Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Designed by the artists <strong>Salvatore Iaconesi<\/strong> and <strong>Oriana Persico<\/strong>, the project invites people to <strong>experience a novel mode of interaction<\/strong> between <strong>individuals<\/strong> and <strong>data<\/strong>:a practice of <strong>meditation<\/strong> mediated by the <strong>technology<\/strong>, through which participants learn to <strong>generate data<\/strong> autobiographically to access a new experience of themselves and others.<\/p>\n<h3>DataMeditation. A mediation for the environment<\/h3>\n<p>It is not only a <strong>workshop<\/strong>, but above all a <strong>ritual of the new living<\/strong> and intends to highlight the condition in which a new cosmology exists, where human beings are part of a dynamic network of different actors and agents, human and non-human.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>&#8220;DataMeditation. A mediation for the environment&#8221;<\/strong>, the encounter between the ancestral practice of meditation and computational sciences becomes an opportunity to <strong>investigate the relationship<\/strong> that, as <strong>individuals<\/strong> and as <strong>society<\/strong>, we have with the <strong>habitat<\/strong> and the <strong>ecosystem<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>The aim is to establish a new position in relation to current issues such as the <strong>environmental emergency<\/strong> and <strong>climate change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop, which is <strong>free<\/strong> and open to <strong>a maximum of 50 participants<\/strong>, requires mandatory registration by <strong>11 October at 1 pm<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>The entire activity is being realised in the context of a research project promoted by the <strong>School of Cultural Heritage and Activities<\/strong> foundation for the <strong>MAXXI Mobile Lab<\/strong>, based on an idea by <strong>Hou Hanru<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The educational experience is aimed at <strong>students<\/strong> in general and in particular those coming from <strong>academies<\/strong>, <strong>institutes<\/strong> and faculties of <strong>art and design<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>In addition to the authors, the team from the <strong>Nuovo Abitare<\/strong> foundation will also participate. Each participant will receive a certificate of participation issued by the <strong>MAXXI Museum<\/strong> and the research centre <strong>&#8220;HER: she Loves Data&#8221;<\/strong> and will co-author the generative work exhibited at the museum as the final output of the project. <\/p>\n<p>The project lasts a total of <strong>two weeks<\/strong>. The first requires the use of a <strong>web application<\/strong> and a daily presence of <strong>15 minutes<\/strong>.
