{"id":84788,"date":"2022-11-08T15:42:48","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T14:42:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unirufa.it\/?p=84788"},"modified":"2022-11-09T14:47:11","modified_gmt":"2022-11-09T13:47:11","slug":"instagram-live-con-kathy-battista","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unirufa.it\/en\/2022\/11\/08\/instagram-live-con-kathy-battista\/","title":{"rendered":"Instagram Live with Kathy Battista"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>A chat via Instagram live with Kathy Battista: writer, internationally renowned curator and new lecturer at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unirufa.it\/offerta-formativa\/master-accademici\/art-curating-and-management\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Academic Master in Art curating and management.<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nWe look forward to seeing you on <strong>Thursday, November 10 at 6 p.m.<\/strong> on RUFA&#8217;s Instagram profile for a direct and enriching discussion with Kathy Battista: &#8220;Redefining Art Communication &#038; Art Criticism Today.&#8221; Through a &#8216;question-and-answer&#8217; format with lecturer Fabrizio Pizzuto, Kathy will talk about some of the key issues that will be addressed and explored as part of the new Academic Master&#8217;s Program in Art Curating and Management.<br \/>\nIndeed, during the meeting they will discuss <strong>methods and tools of cultural marketing and creative communication for contemporary art<\/strong>, both verbal and audiovisual, and the endless possibilities of art management and art curating.<br \/>\nParticipants will also have the opportunity to intervene during the live Instagram with questions and curiosities, initiating a direct exchange with a prominent figure in the international art scene.<\/p>\n<h3>Kathy Battista<\/h3>\n<p>Battista is a writer, educator, and a curator of exhibitions in museums, galleries, and non-profits.<br \/>\nHer research is primarily focused on <strong>cross generational feminist art<\/strong>, in particular performance and body- oriented practice. Most recently she has curated Everything Has Its Place at Sevil Dolmaci Gallery, Istanbul, you pinned me down like a butterfly on a wall, Marie Jacotey for Ballon Rouge at Pablo\u2019s Birthday, The Art of Fashion at Fountain House Gallery New York, Escape Attempts at Shulamit Nazarian Gallery, Los Angeles, and E.A.T.: Experiments in Art and Technology at the Museum der Moderne, Salzburg, Austria.<br \/>\nShe has authored numerous books, including: New York New Wave: The Legacy of Feminist Art in Emerging Practice (2019) and Renegotiating the Body: Feminist Art in 1970s London (2012). Battista also co-edited (with Bryan Faller) a book on artist estates and foundations, Creative Legacies: Critical Issues in Artist Estates, for Lund Humphries (2020).<br \/>\nBattista has over twenty years of leadership positions in the art world. In 1997 she founded the Interaction program at Artangel, a renowned public art agency in London. She also founded the <strong>MA Program in Contemporary Art at Sotheby\u2019s Institute of Art<\/strong> in New York, which she helmed for 11 years. She has also served as Editor in Chief of the Benezit Dictionary of Art for <strong>Oxford University Press<\/strong> and is on several international non-profit boards and committees.
