Il progetto prende ispirazione dal libro di Morrison *Discipline and Desire: Surveillance Technologies in Performance Art* (University of Michigan Press, 2008).<\/p>\n<p>Morrison descrive il potenziale generativo e resistente delle tecnologie di sorveglianza come strumenti artistici nella cultura contemporanea.<\/p>\n<p>Morrison scrive:<br \/>\n<em>\u201cIl termine societ\u00e0 della sorveglianza \u00e8 stato coniato per la prima volta dal sociologo Gary T. Marx nel 1985 per descrivere la gi\u00e0 allora rapida penetrazione delle tecnologie di sorveglianza statali e militari nelle sfere sociali e culturali dei civili di tutto il mondo. Con l\u2019introduzione dei droni nella ricerca ambientale, nei servizi di consegna al consumatore, nella cinematografia amatoriale e professionale, nel controllo delle frontiere e nei reparti di polizia locali, ci troviamo ancora una volta su un familiare filo del rasoio. Da un lato, i rischi di un aumento della disciplina statale e del controllo aziendale minacciano la privacy, le libert\u00e0 personali e la sicurezza delle informazioni di gruppi e individui in tutto il mondo; dall\u2019altro, i benefici di una maggiore efficienza, sicurezza, comunicazione, mobilit\u00e0, crescita economica e intrattenimento tamponano queste ferite.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I sistemi di sorveglianza \u2013 tra cui telecamere a circuito chiuso pubbliche, tecnologie di riconoscimento facciale e software predittivi \u2013 strutturano oggi la comunicazione quotidiana, il consumo e l\u2019intrattenimento, oltre a esercitare controllo nei sistemi politici e militari.
