Laic prayers

ARTISTS: AGNIESZKA BRZEZINA, ALESSANDRA DI MIZIO, ANNA FISCHNALLER, MARIA CHIARA PRENCIPE
LOCATION: PIAZZA DI PASQUINO

The statue of Pasquino is a public forum. On an LED screen positioned to the side, so as not to alter the visual perception of the statue, phrases in Italian and English will appear at intervals of approximately 20 seconds, “recalling” Pasquino’s historical function. The screen is integrated with a QR code linked to the “Laic Prayers” website, which allows users to publish their own message, while excluding obscene phrases or blasphemies. Everyone will be able to see the messages left by others by accessing the site from anywhere in the world. In this way, the Roman tradition of a public and popular forum is kept alive through a modern digital message.
