Psychological Counseling

Creativity and wellbeing: an essential connection

RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts promotes psychological wellbeing as an integral part of academic education. Personal and professional fulfilment is closely connected to mental health: extensive psychosocial research shows that psychological support can strengthen the ability to approach academic, creative and professional challenges with greater awareness.

A tangible commitment to student wellbeing

RUFA provides an internal counselling service and access to online therapy at discounted rates, reaffirming its commitment to promoting wellbeing, active listening and personal growth as essential tools for approaching academic and professional life with greater balance and awareness.

RUFA Counselling Service

RUFA offers a free counselling service to all enrolled students, regardless of their year of study.

The aim is to provide practical tools to:

  • manage stress and academic workload

  • improve concentration and organisation

  • overcome creative blocks

  • address performance and examination anxiety

The service is designed for students experiencing:

  • adjustment to a new cultural environment or living away from home

  • academic pressure and examination anxiety

  • relationship and emotional difficulties

  • stress related to studying and entering the world of work

Alongside emotional support, counselling encourages self-awareness and forward planning, helping students define long-term academic and professional goals.

Sessions last 40 minutes, with up to two free consultations available.

The support pathway is:

  • practical

  • goal-oriented

  • developed collaboratively with the psychologist and psychotherapist

The first consultation is based on a semi-structured interview to explore the student’s request and identify the areas to address.
The second session is guided by the student’s feedback, which is a central part of the process.

The service is coordinated by René Angeramo, a psychologist and psychotherapist specialising in psychological wellbeing and psychosomatic health (Registration No. 15606 – Order of Psychologists of Lazio), with the support of a network of professionally registered psychologists.
