You will design physical and digital environments where immersive technologies, physical computing and artificial intelligence become new expressive languages. You will learn to orchestrate sound, video and interactivity to shape new sensory experiences, integrating artistic vision and multidisciplinary design expertise to drive innovation and respond to the challenges of Creative Studios and contemporary creative industries.
Multimedia Design & Creative AI
Second-Level Academic Diploma, equivalent to a Master’s Degree.
DURATION > 2 YEARS
LANGUAGE > ITALIAN
COURSE START > OCTOBER
CAMPUS > ROME
From idea to staging
The reference model is that of contemporary Multimedia Factories and Creative Studios, genuine hubs where aesthetic research meets cutting-edge technological production. In this context, you will gain mastery of the most advanced software and technologies, but above all the strategic vision and management skills required to coordinate complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Through a teaching approach that constantly integrates theory, laboratory activities and field experimentation, you will master the entire creative process. You will learn to confidently guide every single stage of the work: from the original conceptual idea to technical development, through to its translation into code, physical production and the final direction of immersive experiences capable of redefining the relationship between space, technology and audience.
CREATIVE CODING
You will combine the designer’s methodology with the agility of programming. You will learn not to see code as merely a technical tool, but as a fluid and generative material to be shaped, transforming it into a unique, conscious and limitless expressive language.
Study areas

CREATIVE AI AND GENERATIVE SYSTEMS
You will explore Artificial Intelligence as an asset within the design workflow for creation applied to sound, video, images and design. You will learn to integrate systems capable of reading environmental conditions and real-time data, allowing the output to transform and respond organically. You will be able to manage datasets, control machine learning algorithms and integrate generative systems into multimedia production processes, transforming data into a flexible material and dynamic narratives.

INTERACTION DESIGN AND EXTENDED REALITY (XR)
You will design “Phygital” ecosystems where physical and digital spaces converge. Through physical computing and the languages of augmented and virtual reality, you will learn to build multidimensional environments capable of responding to the presence and behaviour of the audience. From developing natural interfaces to creating immersive worlds, you will design systems in which the body becomes the central interface of the experience.

EXPERIENCE DESIGN AND AUDIOVISUAL NARRATIVES
You will apply design methodology to high-profile cultural and performative contexts. You will learn to reinterpret historical and artistic heritage through narrative installations and immersive museums. You will acquire the skills to direct the staging of audiovisual performances and adaptive digital sets, orchestrating light, sound and video within a coherent overall vision.

A study method designed for you

LEARNING BY DOING
In RUFA, you learn by doing. Alongside the solid foundation of a university-level education, you will develop a hands-on approach that allows you to work on real projects, experiment, and build immediately applicable skills. Each course helps you transform ideas into prototypes, artworks, videos, concepts, installations, or products.

EXTRA DIARY
Workshops, laboratories, exhibitions, talks, and collaborations with companies are an integral part of the learning experience. The classroom opens up to the professional world and becomes a space where you engage every day with professionals, creative directors, artists, and designers. This allows you to understand how the industry you want to grow in truly works.

RESEARCH AND CROSS-POLLINATION
Every discipline becomes a space for experimentation. RUFA encourages you to blend languages, visions, techniques, and tools, combining artistic tradition with technological innovation. Here, you can explore, experiment, create connections, and find your own creative identity.
