RUFA on the Jury of the 2026 Rai Cinema Channel Award

For the second year running, RUFA is renewing its collaboration with Rai Cinema for Alice nella Città 2026, involving its students in the jury for the Rai Cinema Channel Award for Best Short Film.

Students from the BA in Cinema and the MA in Film Arts will take part in the selection process, supported by RUFA lecturers and coordinated by Rai Cinema.

The jury will assess a selection of around 30 Italian short films drawn from the festival’s different programme sections – Competition, Out of Competition, Special Screenings and Academy – bringing a cross-disciplinary perspective aimed at recognising quality, research and talent beyond individual categories.

The Rai Cinema Channel Award will grant the winning short film a three-year acquisition agreement for web and free-to-air TV rights with Rai Cinema.

The jury will be composed of: Alice Poggi, Michele Pomponio, Lorenzo Fabbri, Emma Salerni, Miriam Miranda, Giulio Martini, Luna Franceschi, Gianrico Nannini, Matteo Vicinanza, Giulio Bochicchio, Rita Dipierro, Myriam Mazzeo, Mélanie Schutz and Diana Pelegrin.

Taking part in the jury offers students a concrete opportunity to apply the skills developed during their academic studies, engaging directly with the critical evaluation of audiovisual works and with the professional dynamics of the film industry.

It is an experience that brings together education and practice, giving students the opportunity to explore the languages, trends and selection processes of contemporary cinema while working within a real professional context.

The collaboration with Rai Cinema, a long-standing RUFA partner in the fields of education and audiovisual innovation, confirms the importance of creating direct opportunities for exchange between academia and the film industry, placing new generations at the heart of experiences that support their transition into the professional world.
