The RUFA Annual Report 2023–2024 has been selected for the ADI Design Index 2026 in the Communication Design category.
An important recognition for an editorial project created to mark RUFA’s 25th anniversary and conceived not simply as an institutional document, but as a shared design experience capable of conveying the Academy’s identity through people, projects, research and experimentation. The volume was designed by Intorno Design through a 48-hour creative marathon involving 50 selected students, supported by designers, photographers, visual artists, copywriters and coordinating lecturers. The result is an Annual Report conceived as a journey through RUFA. The narrative opens with ten keywords that interpret the Academy’s identity across past, present and future, before moving through the thesis projects from Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree programmes, as well as the events, talks and activities that shaped the academic year. These contents are complemented by infographics developed according to the Data Humanism approach, transforming data into narrative tools capable of visually conveying the complexity, relationships and human dimension of the Academy. The graphic and material choices are also an integral part of the project. The die-cut dust jacket, revealing the names of the people involved in creating the volume, and the final photographic reportage reinforce the collective nature of the entire process. More than simply recounting an academic year, the RUFA Annual Report 2023–2024 thus becomes a statement of method: a project in which education and professional practice, research and experimentation, individual design and collective work come together within the same creative process.
Since 2000, ADI Design Index has collected and published an annual selection of the best of Italian design, chosen by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory, made up of more than 150 experts from the sector. Inclusion in the ADI Design Index also represents the first step in the selection process for the ADI Compasso d’Oro Award, one of the most prestigious international recognitions in the field of design. Each year, the publication of the Index is accompanied by exhibitions dedicated to the selected projects, providing them with further visibility among professionals, institutions and the public. The RUFA Annual Report 2023–2024 will be exhibited in the exhibitions dedicated to ADI Design Index 2026 in Milan, at the ADI Design Museum, and in L’Aquila, Italian Capital of Culture 2026. The Milan exhibition opens on Thursday 1 October at 6:00 pm and will be open until 15 October, from Monday to Sunday from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm, closed on Fridays.
