Sslò, an acronym for Shop San Lorenzo, is the first streetwear brand entirely dedicated to the Roman district of San Lorenzo. Sslò celebrates the art and beauty of the neighbourhood, which often go unnoticed, and enhances every corner of it. To create the products, we explored the district thoroughly, photographing everything that caught our attention. We focused not only on the wide-angle, collective view of the area, but also moved as close as possible in search of distinctive and unique textures, surfaces and traces that can only be identified through careful observation. We were also inspired by the Japanese concept of Wabi-sabi, according to which beauty is intimately intertwined with imperfection and the transience of things. We reworked the photographic material captured in San Lorenzo to create textures and patterns, which were then applied to sweatshirts, T-shirts, watches and phone cases.
