Recognising discrimination
Discrimination is defined as direct or indirect behaviour that results in unequal treatment of an individual or group because they belong to a particular category.
Direct discrimination occurs when an action places an individual or group in a disadvantaged situation or position.
Indirect discrimination occurs when an apparently neutral rule, regulation, practice, criterion or parameter places an individual or category of people at a disadvantage in practice.
Anyone who believes they have experienced discrimination, harassment or retaliation may report it, including anonymously.
