RUFA at MAG TO MAG 2026
RUFA renews its partnership with MAG TO MAG, the event dedicated to the world of independent magazines, taking place on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October 2026 at BASE Milano, in Via Bergognone 34.
Organised by Frab’s Magazines & More, MAG TO MAG brings together publishers, designers, authors, professionals and independent publishing enthusiasts from Italy and abroad. Two days of talks, meetings, training and networking, accompanied by a large market dedicated to independent publications and initiatives related to graphic design and visual culture.
Following previous editions, which brought thousands of visitors and over 80 magazine publishers to Milan, the festival returns in 2026 with the aim of creating new connections between those who design, produce, distribute and communicate contemporary editorial culture.
RUFA at MAG TO MAG: student projects
Throughout the event, RUFA will have its own stand, transformed into a space dedicated to editorial experimentation and projects developed within the Graphic Design, Graphic Design – Comics and Illustration and Visual and Innovation Design courses.
RUFA students themselves will present the works on display to visitors, sharing their processes, research and design choices.
A selection that presents magazines and editorial publications not simply as graphic products, but as spaces for research, storytelling and experimentation, capable of connecting visual design, content and social context.
Designing Magazines: the RUFA talk
Saturday 3 October at 12:30, RUFA will also take centre stage in the MAG TO MAG programme with the talk DESIGNING MAGAZINES.
How is a magazine created? And how can it become a tool for research, storytelling and social transformation?
Through three different editorial projects, Stefano Cipolla and RUFA students will explore the magazine as a space for experimentation and design practice.
During the talk, they will present one publication created by students in Rome, one developed by students in Milan and the Rebibbia project, developed through a collaboration between RUFA students and inmates at the Rome prison.
Three different experiences offering an opportunity to reflect on the role of contemporary editorial design and on how graphic design, education and social responsibility can come together within a publication.
The talk will be led by Stefano Cipolla, Art Director of L’Espresso, founder of Grafica Magazine, RUFA lecturer and coordinator of the BA in Graphic Design, together with the students involved in the projects.
