RUFA Limited Edition: Talent and Design in a Can
An exciting contest saw RUFA Graphic Design students take centre stage as they worked on creating a Limited Edition of labels for Jungle Juice Brewing’s historic UTE beer. The winning project, designed by Catalina Prita, will soon be printed on a special batch of 200 cans, thanks to the collaboration with Rotocel, a leading company in the label printing sector.

The contest: creativity and innovation in packaging
As part of the Packaging Course taught by RUFA lecturer Malica Worms, students took on the challenge of designing not only a label, but also a dedicated delivery box for the RUFA Limited Edition of UTE beer. The projects, developed individually, were presented through physical prototypes and digital mockups to an exceptional jury composed of Emanuele Grimaldi, Brand Manager and Founding Partner of Jungle Juice Brewing, Patrizio Anastasi, graphic designer and illustrator for the historic brewery, Federica Mazza, sales manager at Rotocel, Malica Worms, art director and RUFA lecturer, and Valentina Toscano, Industry and Alumni Relations Manager for RUFA.
The competition concluded with the selection of the best project: Catalina Prita impressed the jury with her proposal, standing out for originality, coherence and visual impact.
An immersive experience in the world of beer and printing
This contest was preceded by two key experiences for the students:
– An exclusive workshop with Rotocel, during which they explored advanced printing techniques for packaging;
– A tour of the Jungle Juice Brewing brewery, an immersion in the world of craft beer to understand the product and its context.
This experience allowed the students to follow the entire creative process: from graphic design and material analysis through to the actual production of the label. A unique opportunity to see innovation and tradition come together in a design project.
