RUFA is pleased to present the 2026 edition of RUFA ON SCREEN, the biennial film festival created to promote and support the work of RUFA students and Alumni from the Cinema, Film Arts and Computer Animation and Visual Effects programmes.
Simulacri
Exhibition: students from the Graphic design programme. Coordinated by Enrico Parisio. RUFA Space from 19 to 23 July 2021.
The simulacra burst into our lives, into our chronological time, forcing us to confront the superhuman, destiny, the impossible. From the Greek tragedies of Oedipus Rex to The Bacchae, through to the paradoxical temporary occupation of Capitol Hill by Donald Trump supporters, we are faced with the rupture of diachronic time and the seizure of synchronic time, against the backdrop of the plague/Covid in Thebes and throughout the world. RUFA students have confronted the representation of the absolute, the unrepresentable, pushing themselves to the point where language can no longer be denotative but only expressive, metaphorical, allusive. Beyond every limit.
This new event continues a research path that began with Il potere sovrano and Altroritratto. The exhibition by Graphic design students, coordinated by Enrico Parisio, will be accompanied by a live stream and a discussion with the students.
Relive the live-streamed presentation of the short film Edipo Re with students Ilaria Gentili, Giulia Giovannetti, Valeria Carru, Roberta Cianci and Elizaveta Aksenova, held on 21 July 2021 at 17:00.
Following the talk, a discussion with the students was held at RUFA Space with contributions from: Enrico Parisio RUFA lecturer, Nicolas Martino, philosopher and RUFA lecturer, and Valentino Catricalà (curator of the SODA Gallery at Manchester Metropolitan University).
