Caterina Silva is a visual artist born in Rome in 1983.
Through painting and performance, her research investigates the connections between language and power, adopting a silent perspective to elude canonical structures of meaning production and to question wider systems of classification and control.
She was an artist in residence at Cité des arts, Paris 2012; Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, Amsterdam 2014-2015; Asia Culture Center, Gwangju 2016; NKD, Dale, Norway 2018. In 2022 she was awarded the Italian Council XI Edition – Talent Development Grant.
