From Seoul to Rome: RUFA welcomes the students of Kyung Hee University

In the spirit of internationalisation and cultural exchange, RUFA has launched a new partnership with Kyung Hee University, one of the most prestigious private universities in South Korea.
Based in Seoul, with additional campuses in Yongin and Namyangju, Kyung Hee University is a globally recognised centre of excellence for its academic programmes in the arts, sciences, medicine, and humanities. The university hosts over 23,000 students and actively promotes international mobility, engaging thousands of students and faculty members each year in exchange programmes. It is currently ranked #331 in the QS World University Rankings 2026.
RUFA is already an active partner in an Erasmus+ agreement with Kyung Hee University, contributing to the promotion of international mobility through exchange programmes and academic cooperation.

This new alliance was strengthened by the participation of a group of Korean students in the Creative Summer Camp of the RUFA Summer Academy, an intensive programme dedicated to young Italian and international creatives who wish to enrich their artistic education through an immersive experience in the city of Rome.
This initiative is part of an ongoing dialogue between RUFA and Kyung Hee University, with which a joint Erasmus+ agreement is already in place to promote international mobility and academic cooperation.

During their stay, the students took part in a multi-module programme, delving into painting, drawing, photography, and design under the guidance of RUFA artists and lecturers Alessandro Carpentieri, Meltem Eti Pro e Fabrizio Dell’Arno, Agnese Angelini and Gianluca Lorenzini..
The lessons combined theory and practice: from an introduction to gestural drawing and human figure composition, to the use of painting materials and visual synthesis, to a project-based workshop focused on sustainable design and an introduction to photographic language and techniques. The programme was enriched by a series of guided tours through some of the most iconic and culturally relevant sites in Rome, including museums, monuments, artisan workshops, and spaces dedicated to contemporary culture.

The final day featured a student exhibition showcasing the works produced during the camp, followed by an official diploma ceremony. A moment of sharing that marked not only the conclusion of an intense learning journey, but also the beginning of an academic dialogue destined to grow over time.

This initiative is part of RUFA’s broader internationalisation strategy, aimed at strengthening collaborations with leading academic institutions around the world, fostering cultural exchange, educational development, and dialogue between artistic languages.
