Chiara Dattola

Chiara Dattola is an illustrator, visual storyteller, mentor, and teacher who lives and works in Milan.
Her career has been active since 2000, and she works primarily at an international level in editorial illustration, design, and visual communication. Her practice combines artistic research and storytelling, with color at the heart of her visual identity.
She also works on illustrated books for a diverse audience, both as an illustrator and as an author, and has nearly 50 publications to her name.
Her work has been exhibited in Italy and abroad.
Dattola teaches and leads illustration, drawing, and visual storytelling workshops for public and private institutions, schools, and companies.
In 2022 she founded SMALL ACADEMIA | School of Drawing and Imagination.
Since 2025, SMALL ACADEMIA’s artistic workshop When Art Comes to Life has been included among Airbnb’s top experiences for discovering Milan.
