L’Altra Faccia della Medusa

The Other Face of Medusa is a project that examines the career of fashion designer Gianni Versace, bringing to light its moments of glory, achievements and innovations.
Following in the footsteps of events previously organised as tributes to the designer, beginning with those created by his sister Donatella Versace, the decision to recreate a fashion show emerged naturally without appearing predictable.
The location chosen for the event is Le Castella, Calabria: bringing Gianni Versace back to his homeland was essential.
The development of this project was made possible through extensive research into new technologies applied to the environment and into unique artistic installations with distinctive meanings.
Elegant yet kitsch at the same time, complex and simple, a play of symbols between the location and the set design will celebrate the bond the designer always maintained with culture and the art world, transforming an event that may seem “already seen” into something truly unique.
This combination of fashion and set design originates from a personal passion for both disciplines, one approached theoretically and the other through design, almost as though they complete one another.
The use of gold makes the visual impact even more spectacular. Gold has been one of the defining elements of the Versace brand since its origins and may also represent a legacy of Greek culture.
Gold is wealth, gold is elegance, gold is history, gold is Versace.
