Simone Spampinato (Rome, 1995) is an Italian filmmaker. He studied Cinema at RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts, where he wrote and directed short films and documentaries during his university years.
In 2016, he co-founded Jumping Flea, a Rome-based film production and post-production company. In 2019, he worked as producer, co-writer and editor on “Koi”. In 2021, he co-directed the documentary “Fort Apache” with Ilaria Galanti, featuring acclaimed actor Marcello Fonte. The film was selected for the Shanghai International Film Festival and the RIFF – Rome Independent Film Festival.
In 2022, he worked as assistant director, co-writer and executive producer on Christian Angeli’s documentary “Come una vera coppia”, produced in collaboration with AIPD – Associazione Italiana Persone Down and Rai Documentari. That same year, he also worked as camera operator and editor on the documentary “Il tempio della velocità”, produced by Moviheart in collaboration with Rai Documentari.
In 2023, he continued his work as an editor on the documentaries “Totò e il principe de Curtis” and “Enzo Tortora: volevo immaginarmi altrove”, both co-produced by Rai Documentari.
In 2025, he edited the documentary “Nino Benvenuti: una leggenda italiana”, directed the short documentary “Il giardino delle delizie”, and worked as producer, sound recordist and editor on Giulio Maroncelli’s short film “Sogni”.
In 2026, he produced, wrote and edited the short documentary “Di cosa parliamo quando parliamo d’amore”.
