Claudia Rolando was born in Rome in 1995. After obtaining her scientific high school diploma, she graduated with honours in Photography from Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA) in 2019.
Her photographic research focuses particularly on documentation, developing social reportages both in Italy and abroad, in countries such as Argentina and Tunisia. Telling stories through images, the vision she seeks to convey is that of a spontaneous image, describing the moment without being intrusive. In addition to these themes, she also covers numerous public and private events, including concerts, exhibitions, demonstrations, and events of various kinds. Claudia also tries to combine her profession with her passion for travel. Experimenting with new shooting techniques and taking photographs from different perspectives. In every photograph she takes, her aim is to tell stories that can create empathy between the subjects portrayed and the viewer.
Argentina terra di migrazioni
Migration, a contemporary theme and at the same time a fundamental part of human history and, in particular, of the history of our country. This is the core of a project that begins with a family experience: Italian emigration to Argentina. In a journey that becomes both photographic reportage and a reconstruction of personal and collective memory, the search for one’s roots and their development on the other side of the world becomes a metaphor for an increasingly common condition in which millions of human beings cross the sea in search of fortune and better living conditions.
At the same time, this reportage is also a reconstruction of the diasporic identity of a country that often forgets its history, even its more recent history.
