Classificazione merceologica può contenere tracce di esseri umani

Against all forms of standardisation, this project aims to objectify the human being, taking categorisation to an extreme and translating the individual into a barcode. An installation identifies and classifies users through the analysis of their voice, rich in expressiveness and emotion. A programme analyses the extralinguistic information contained in users’ voices according to predefined criteria. The machine therefore becomes the judge of what a voice has conveyed to it, enclosing it within a category.

The multiple and variable pieces of information contained in each voice, restricted to classification categories, show how reductive it is to confine individuals within predefined schemes.
