My name is Francesco Floris, I was born in Olbia on 24 January 1991. At the age of nine I became intrigued by the description of the profession known as “Advertising Graphic Designer”, and from that moment I began my journey of experimentation in the artistic field. Today, I work for an advertising agency in Rome.
I began my studies at high school and completed them with a specialist course in Visual and Innovation Design at RUFA. Of all the activities I have undertaken so far, the RUFA Contest has been the most rewarding; I took part in 2019 with the work “Ex_Stasis”, a unique experience in which I devoted myself consistently and passionately to a personal project, experimenting and working with a wide range of new tools. I believe that in our profession it is important to engage with other creative realities without focusing solely on a computer screen, but rather by researching different materials in order to continually feed our curiosity.
D’ECO – La voce ai designer
We are designers who are aware that we have gaps in our knowledge that are unrelated to technical notions, but rather stem from a lack of understanding of humanistic, historical and cultural themes, and that we lack the tools to engage with those who govern us and improve our position.
How aware is society of our profession? What protects us?
Why do competitiveness and individualism exist? These are the questions we have asked ourselves about designers, who are capable of solving problems of every kind but unable to interact with one another, concerned only with their own survival.
Design generates wealth in society, and its value must therefore be recognised by increasing design culture in general and through
the education of designers who are aware of the potential of the profession.
“D’ECO La voce ai designer” is a biannual magazine that, through history, technology and society, opens up a debate among designers from every field on the state of the profession through questionnaires, interviews with professionals, debates, articles and columns, creating a shared awareness aimed at finding solutions.
