My name is Giulia, I was born in Rome on 13 October 1990. I currently work as an Accessories Designer in the bags and leather goods department of Fendi’s menswear style office, in my city. I graduated from the three-year Architecture programme at La Sapienza University of Rome and obtained a Second-Level Academic Diploma in Set Design at RUFA in 2016. From September of the same year, after an initial year-long internship, I began my professional experience at Fendi as a Designer and graphic designer, working on the creation and development of the main collections and fashion shows.
Il sogno del grande Gatsby
Giulia’s thesis focuses on staging “The Great Gatsby”, Fitzgerald’s masterpiece. Drawing on the many film adaptations that have been produced, Giulia placed this modern tale within a theatrical setting capable of bringing Gatsby and the other characters to life and conveying the conflicts, poetry and dramatic scenes of the book to a rediscovered audience of theatre lovers.
From then on, her objective was to create a set design project capable of translating, into an Italian theatrical adaptation, the magic of this timeless story, starting from the study of what had already been created, of the 1930s period in America and of everything that could be useful for this purpose.
