Irene Di Salvo was born in Rome on 10 March 1998.
After studying languages at high school, in 2017 she began attending the Rome University of Fine Art, discovering many passions during her academic journey that she had previously been unaware of, such as cinematography, video editing and the photobook, to the point of combining them with her fashion photography work.
The work developed over the years has led to a vision that seeks to escape from the surrounding world, both in fashion and in more personal projects, searching for an alternative reality in which the viewer too can take refuge.
In 2020 she concluded the academic year with an internship experience with Michele De Andreis, a well-known fashion photographer with whom she continued to collaborate even after completing her studies, working as his assistant and video editor for his projects.
In 2021, as a videoeditor and in collaboration with MFFashion and Michele De Andreis, she created a series of videos that were projected in airports and metro stations throughout Italy.
Today she works between Rome and Milan as a photographer, postproducer, video editor and social media manager for various brands.
The Place of Nowhere
The Place of Nowhere is a representation of the evolutionary process of humankind and its relationship with nature, starting from an initial balance between the two and passing through the exaltation of the artificial at the expense of nature, until humankind loses itself within nature itself. We are accustomed to seeing nature as a passive element and have lost the contact and relationship that humankind once had with it, but what if one day nature were to rebel against all the harm inflicted upon it and the planet by humankind?
Nature, through its phenomena, has given us a decisive meaning: in order to regenerate, it must necessarily destroy.
