Laura Arcangeli.

Laura has always been drawn to artistic languages, such as drawing, as a means of expressing herself.
After completing classical studies, she felt the need to find new ways to communicate her vision of the world and enrolled in the New Technologies of Art programme at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino, where she trained in graphic design, videomaking and photography. She later decided to continue her studies in the field of new media, focusing her interests on new art forms such as interactive installations. She therefore enrolled in the Master’s programme in Multimedia Space Design at RUFA, graduating in 2020. Her style is based on programmed circuits, real-time generated data and their manipulation in audiovisual works and interactive installations; all of this with a particular inclination towards experimentation and imagination. During the Master’s programme in particular, she became interested in the world of augmented objects.
Since the end of 2019 she has collaborated with Ultravioletto.

Augmented skateboarding: multimedia amplification of a lifestyle

An audiovisual performance in which the movement of a skateboard equipped with a sensor becomes not only an action in space-time, but also a flow of digital data that can be creatively shaped into generative visuals. The skater contributes to this artistic situation by controlling the video in real time through movements performed on the skateboard. An original relationship is thus established between the practice of skateboarding and visual art. A dual scene is created: the sporting and movement-based performance participates in the artistic one.

By augmenting the predetermined use of the skateboard through the sensor, a lifestyle is amplified, demonstrating that art today, with the help of new technologies, can explore new places and establish relationships with practices and activities that are foreign to it.
