Confronto a distanza. Storia dell’arte contemporanea cinese dal 1979 al 1999

In his thesis, Li Fei developed a study of Chinese contemporary art starting from the 1970s. During this period, Chinese artists were able to become personally involved in all the changes that swept through society, experimenting with new styles and new forms of thought. The intellectual richness of that period stimulated the student’s analysis, research and critical reflection. His study made it possible to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese contemporary art of the 1970s. And not only that. His work also reveals highly interesting aspects of Chinese society and the changes in certain political and cultural balances that greatly stimulated the intellectual community of the Eastern giant.

The research carried out also represents an essential bibliographical contribution to understanding the roots underlying the leading role that China plays in today’s art market.
