Marta Ferro was born in Salemi (Trapani) in 1996. After completing classical studies, she graduated in Photography from the Rome University of fine Arts (RUFA). She has been working in the fields of visual arts, photography and social media for several years, mainly in the commercial and architectural sectors. She uses photographic language as a medium through which to explore reality with curiosity and intimacy. She is primarily interested in creating images that can encourage viewers to reflect.
Il gesto dell’isola. Il linguaggio del corpo
The body is the boundary between the external world, namely what we perceive through our senses, and our deeply personal inner world, a system of signs through which human beings communicate. The body is an extremely powerful means of communication. This thesis investigates the gestures typical of Sicilians, exploring in depth the way they present themselves and communicate with others. Through the use of the camera, this work recorded what was happening in the streets, among people, with patience and determination. Three different videos positioned within the space show body language. Sound moves through the images, presenting soundscapes and voices.
