Set Design
Martina Arcieri.

I have always been interested in and fascinated by the world of design and art. The former turns the latter into communication, and this is the focus of my work.
During my studies I began an internship on the TV series “Alfredino: Una storia italiana”, produced by Lotus Production for Sky, which allowed me to enter the world of cinema. The following year I worked as an assistant set decorator on the series “Un professore”, produced by Banijay Studios Italy srl for Rai, and subsequently as a graphic designer in the Set Design department for the film “La mia ombra è tua” by Fandango.
Shortly before graduating, I worked as an assistant for the Christmas event “Christmas World: il Natale nel Mondo” at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. After graduating, I began working as an assistant set decorator on the TV series “Il clandestino” by Italian International Film srl, produced for Rai.

LA CITTÀ INCANTATA

LA CITTÀ INCANTATA draws strong inspiration not only from the plot of Hayao Miyazaki’s animated masterpiece of the same name, but also from the collection of messages conveyed by all of its images, seeking to recreate in theatrical form that bizarre and wonderful world that the author designed with such mastery.
The idea of a musical show stems from the desire to reinterpret the film through a medium other than animation: a theatrical set design that attempts to explore the forms and atmospheres of the Japanese master’s film.

Drawing remains the primary tool in this communication process, a form of drawing that seeks to restore to all the structural elements and all the materials used that magic which only a live performance can convey through its magical relationship with the actors and the audience.
