There are endless things I do not know, that I do not understand; photography is an attempt to understand what surrounds me, a search for a point of support, a way not to sink into oblivion.
I am interested in nature, abandonment, solitude, small communities, relating to the past as a fundamental common thread; I am very interested in photographing people in the places where they were born and raised, and the influence those places have had on them.
I like to start from a ‘real’ fact, a statistic, a legend, a tradition, using documentary language, and then play with the limitations of documentation, digress metaphorically, evoke feelings, work on small details, on silence.
Investigating the mystery of others, trying to understand something about myself.
