Adriano Ricci earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema at RUFA in 2016 and his Master’s Degree at Sapienza University in 2019. In 2012, he won first prize in the literary competition organised by the Regional Council of Lazio: “Mai più violenza: esci dal silenzio” and in the “Bruno Nardo” literary competition.
He wrote and directed the short films “Noi siamo la notte”, “Magnesio”, winner at the Corti Sonanti International Short Film Festival 2020, and “Le scale”, winner at the Parma International Music Film Festival 2017 and of the Award of Excellence at Canada Shorts.
He collaborated as an editor on the adaptation of the screenplay “Gli infedeli”, directed by Stefano Mordini. Together with Ilaria Pedon, he won the Grand Jury Prize for the screenplay “CENTO” at the eighth edition of the Mattador competition.
In 2018, together with his friends and colleagues, he founded the THREEAB film company. In 2019, together with Girolamo Capuano, he won the Mibact call “Noi siamo il futuro” with the short film “A mosca cieca”.
Passionate about musicals since childhood, Adriano explored the history of the genre in his thesis, from its origins to the present day, creating a musical short film that he wrote and directed himself.
Dividing the thesis into four chapters, he began with the silent cinema of the Lumière brothers and continued through to Disney’s first animated musical film, demonstrating how music immediately proved to be an essential part of cinema and how the first directors working in the genre, together with Hollywood icons, defined its characteristics.
