I am Chiara Preti, born in Verona in 2001, I am twenty years old and I live in Desenzano del Garda (Lombardy). I attended the Leonardo Art High School in Brescia, where I studied figurative art and painting, experimenting with various expressive and communicative methods. In photography I recognised the medium through which I could capture, trap, what I feel and want to express in the most truthful and immediate way possible. I am attending the first year of Photography and Audiovisual at RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts precisely in order to continue discovering this fascinating artistic form.
“Through photography I seek naturalness, the truthfulness of sensations and feelings. Through self-portraits and environmental portraits, in which the interaction between subject and environment is essential, I want to convey empty and full spaces in which absence and unease stand out, but also familiarity, warmth and a sense of welcome.”
